If Only I Had Wings

June 26, 2016

I wish I had wings like a dove, so I could fly far away and be at peace.

~Psalm 55:6, CEV

Some people live in a dream world while other face reality and a rare few learn to turn one into the other.

~Doug Everett

Escapism is the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant circumstances or realities. We may achieve this relief through entertainment, recreation, hard work, drugs or fantasy. Usually, when a person get addicted to drugs, it is an effort to escape an unpleasant reality. In David’s case, his life was threatened by a friend who betrayed him and David came so close to death that he was terrified. In that moment of fear and anxiety, David prayed, “I wish I had wings like a dove, so I could fly away and be at peace.”

Hey, there is nothing wrong with David’s desire for peace and security. Only a fool would pray to be on someone’s hit list. A powerful person had a contract on David’s life and he was feeling very insecure. He longed to be like a bird because they have a distinct advantage over their predators and over we humans; they have wings. In seconds a dove can escape danger by taking flight. They can fly above the fray and they leave no tracts for those who would hunt them. Have you ever saw a dove in a storm? Birds don’t do storms; instinctively they fly away from or above the storms. They are the ultimate escape artist.

So, David is wishing he could be like a bird and escape his problems by getting away from the storm and the turmoil. BUT we are not birds and God is not pleased when we run from our problems. Little children use fantasy as an escape valve and that is a God given survival instinct but a part of growing up is learning to face reality whether it is pleasant or not. By the way, there is one bird that doesn’t fly away to escape reality, it buries its head in the sand. Its the Ostrich and it is a stupid bird. [Job 39:13-18]

So, don’t make excuses and don’t be childish, immature or stupid–face your problems. It is not like you are alone, Jesus will help you. He is our courage and our peace.

The Ultimate Reality

September 19, 2015

What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

~Isaiah 5:20, NLT

Perception is reality, not!

Adolf Hitler understood the law of propaganda, If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.” Hank Williams, Jr. made an analogy concerning John Boehner playing golf with Obama: he said it would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu. It was not a bad analogy but it set off a fire storm that included FOX NEWS which we hoped would be more understanding. ESPN fired Hank Jr. immediately from Monday Night football. I am sure the anti-Christ NFL was encouraging them to do so. The “Progressives” as they like to call themselves, alias democrat, alias liberals employ the exact same philosophy as Hitler. Their mantra is “Perception is reality.” Unfortunately the phrase originated with a Republican and an advisor to Ronald Reagan. Pragmatically, it is true in the world of business and politics but technically, perception is not reality.

Liberals are not intelligent and the dupes who drink their cool aid are pure idiots. We are talking about mindless puppets who believe everything their liberal icons tell them. The not-so-supreme court made up of progressives has taken it on themselves to change the institution of marriage which God ordained and established between male and female. God’s purpose was for man to procreate and fill the earth. Two men can’t fulfill His purpose, nor can two women.

So Obama and his not-so-supreme court are attempting to change our perception of marriage but that will not alter the truth. The libs say an orange is no longer an orange; it is in fact an apple, after all “Perception is reality, and we perceive the orange to be an apple, therefore it is an apple. Hogwash! You can repeat this nonsense a million times on NBC nightly news and it is still hogwash!

Let me tell you who defines reality, I AM [Yahweh] the Eternal One defines reality. He speaks and it becomes reality. The Great I AM, the eternal self-existent One who is and was and always will be created music, math and an array of precise sciences as well as natural laws. I would not be shocked if one of these liberal idiots declared that 2+2 equals 5. You could create that perception in the minds of morons and small children but 2+2 will never be 5 and do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti will never be ti, do, mi, sol. A man is a husband and a woman is a wife and when the two are joined, you have a family. You can’t change that anymore than you can change math, music, or the law of gravity. I am stating simple facts which means our not-so-supreme court is made up of at least five idiots. Who do they think they are?

By the way, there is a bill in the Tennessee State Legislation that will make the not-so-supreme courts ruling invalid. The Tennessee lawmakers are basing their bill on the fact that the not-so-supreme court violated the Constitution of the United States. We need Alabama to join them. Get something stirring Arthur. We need a congress that has the backbone to impeach some judges. The democrats have no morals and the republican have no backbone [I’m being nice].

  • We had a very pleasant trip to St. Jude’s yesterday; the old Lexus didn’t let me down. Kane is much, much better and we had a good visit and I got to help them move to a new room, 2021. I was so relieved to see Kane feeling better. Joe David did the local hospitals. Gary Garner is in a room and doing better, PTL. Mavis had to spend another night at CRMC. Renea and Michelle’s dad {Marie’s husband} Tom Cancilla had a stint put in two days ago and he came home last night. Jeff reminded me that this is Chosen’s grandfather. Remember me calling Jeff and Renea’s baby Chosen instead of Chason.
  • A lot of good football on today and I don’t have time to watch. I’m going to try to get June to tape them. I am not even tempted to watch on Sunday but Saturday’s games are a huge temptation, especially Auburn and LSU. Today, I am pulling for the Tigers, no lie! I am sure Gregg and Willard are pulling for the Tigers also. It is a part of what makes us such good sports. “Hold that Tiger.” June and Lexi will be pulling for Dogs. I am going to bed at 8:00 LORD Willing. I am picking Ole Miss and Auburn in upsets. It should be against the law to state a college football game at 8:00 pm.
  • SUNDAY is a Marathon for me…Deacons at 8:15, Donuts and biscuits, LCBS, Morning Worship, Visitation, Evening worship. AWANA at 5:30 and evening worship at 6:15.
