Blessed are the people who know the passwords of praise, who shout on parade in the bright presence of God.

Praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation.

my thoughts red

I think everything related to a computer has a password and I hate passwords because I cannot remember them. One older lady tried to make “incorrect” her password. Her logic was if she entered the wrong password her computer would say…”Your password is INCORRECT.” The problem is, the folks on the other end of the line demand that you create a unique password and sometimes they demand that it be a combination of small case, large case with at least two numerals. Are these people smoking crack or what!

Praise is a program that is easy to get into because the PASSWORD is simple. God is really into the simple because He wants all of us to come to a knowledge of the truth. The PASSWORD to praise is THANKSGIVING. If you’ve been unable to get into PRAISE, perhaps you are using the wrong password. Delete the ‘Me’ or the ‘Music Style’ and try ‘Thanksgiving’ in any case: see if it does not get you into praise.

EXTRA/LCBS LESSON PREVIEW FOR NOVEMBER 30

Ministry In The Face of Mental Illness

Introduction

All our Bible Study groups are to begin their class with an intercessory prayer time. Most of the prayer request will relate to sickness. On any given Sunday, our classes report 10-20 request related to cancer. I doubt if you can find a person in our church that does not have a friend or family member battling cancer. The one thing that does not come up is MENTAL ILLNESS. Why is this? They say that one in ten suffer from some form of depression. Let me give you a list of types mental illness and I doubt that the list is exhaustive.

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Mood Disorders [Bi-polar, huge mood shifts]
  • Psychotic Disorders [Schizophrenia]
  • Eating Disorders [anorexia, bulimia]
  • Control Disorders
  • Personality Disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsion Disorders
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorders [usually related to the sexually abused or possibly someone who had an abortion]

You see the list and the statistic that one out of ten suffer from one of the above. Do you think it is possible to be a member of a church which has 600 plus members and none with a mental health issue. What comes to your mind when you hear the words “Mental Illness?” {You think psychotic, someone who needs to be in an institution} Most of the people around us who suffer from mental illness are not psychotic: many are simple depressed. One of my favorite scriptures is Hebrews 10:24-25…And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Depression is a form of discouragement. As a child of God, your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to encourage someone this Sunday.

Don’t take the Marine approach…”Suck it up you loser. Stop whining–no one cares. It is a cruel world-get use to it.” I made this mistake for years. My logic was simple: “I am a child of God and I know to be in Church on Sunday morning. I don’t need a call, a card, a visit or for my wife and children to beg me. If you are a child of God, you should be like me. I will visit lost folks but I am not pandering to the whining immature Christians that need to be encouraged every week.” If you are hard wired like myself, you may not need a lot of encouragement to do what you know is right but everyone is not wired the same and herein lies the problem. Some people need more encouragement than others. It does not mean they are weak, bad, or inferior: it simply means they need encouragement.

SCRIPTURE TEXT [2 Corinthians 1:2-7, NLT]

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.

As Charles said in the TG service, “All God’s blessing are meant to be shared.” God gives us comfort so that we can pass it along to others. Did you notice: the more we suffer for Christ, the more God showers us with His comfort. Let’s just list the insights before we get into the questions…

  1. God’s blessings are meant to be shared.
  2. The more we suffer for Christ, the more comfort we receive.
  3. God is a merciful father.
  4. He is the source, the giver of all comfort.
  5. Being merciful and giving comfort connects HIM to hurting people. [Psalms 34:18]

QUESTIONS TO PONDER

  1. More young people [18-24] die from suicide than by traffic accidents. Does this shock you? Why do you suppose this is true?
  2. For youth the age of 10-24, suicide is the third leading cause of death. What is the problem? Why are young people taking their own life?
  3. Have you ever considered suicide? Be honest.
  4. Why is our culture looking at divorce, drugs, destructive habits and unhealthy relationships as a way out?
  5. How does God bring comfort the hurting? [The life of His Son, His Spirit and His word but he also using believers to share comfort with the hurting]
  6. Think of your circle of friends: do you have a friend the is hurting? [grief, disappointment, depression]
  7. What is the most effective way to comfort? [Use Job and friends at a case study]
  8. What was the most effective thing that Jobs friends did by way of giving comfort? [presence, listening]
  9. What was the most ineffective? [preaching, giving advice, passing judgment]
  10. To be effective at giving comfort: what one thing do we need? [call it compassion, love, sensitivity, concern, whatever but if you don’t have it, you’ll do more damage than good. If you really don’t care: stay at home]
  11. Jobs friends felt a moral obligation to give comfort: it was like a religious show: is this enough?
  12. Think small–little acts of kindness make a huge difference to the hurting. You can’t solve their problem. You can relieve their pain. You cannot rescue them from a bad situation but you can do small things that indicate your love and concern. What are some small things that we can do? {cards, calls, emails, gifts, take them out to eat, bake them cookies or a cake, small gestures of kindness]
  13. How big of a problems is our sense of helplessness. We reason that since we cannot do something miraculous, why do anything. Do you think that our being overwhelmed by their problem causes us to be inactive?

INSIGHTS

  1. Mental illness is not a myth; it is a real problem that we need to address.
  2. We cannot fix mental illness anymore than we can cure cancer but we can do something.
  3. The one thing our hurting friends and family members need to know is that “We love them and they have our support.”
  4. We all need to remember that mental illness can strike at any time and the older we get the higher the risk. Be merciful, someday you may need mercy.

STORY

Years ago, more than 20: June and I were in Memphis, Tennessee attending the COLS of Ramona Eaton’s mother. One of the associates from Belleview did the service at the grave side and he told this story which I will attempt to retell. An elderly lady had a very disturbed mind. She imagined that two men were stalking her relentlessly. She went to her children for help but they ignored her. She talked to her neighbors but they treated her like she was crazy. Finally, in desperation, she went to see her pastor. She explained everything in detail and he listened intently. He not only listened, he cared about the woman. While she was talking, God whispered in the ear of the preacher and gave him detailed instructions on what to do. When the woman concluded, she said, “You don’t believe me do you?” “Yes mam,” said the pastor, “I believe every word.” She was so excited, “You mean, you believe that two men are following me day and night?” “Yes I do and I know their names,” said the wise pastor. “You know their names,” said she. “Yes mam, there names are actually in the bible” and then he opened his bible and read Psalm 23. He said, “Come over here and let me show you…see there is verse 6 ‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.'” He said, “You are so blessed. God has sent two people by the name of Goodness and Mercy and they are going to watch after you as long as you live.” The woman was overcome with joy.  From that moment on she had perfect peace and she clung to the promise in Psalms 23:6. She never had another anxious moment about being followed.

You might say, “Well, she was still crazy.” As Elmer Jackson says, “We all have a screw loose somewhere.” Where as the woman was not perfect balanced, her pastor did his job and he gave her comfort which is what we are supposed to be doing. Am I right or wrong?

SCRIPTURE

So on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, a day that he himself had designated, Jeroboam offered sacrifices on the altar at Bethel. He instituted a religious festival for Israel, and he went up to the altar to burn incense.

~I Kings 12:33, NLT

QUOTE

True faith in Christ which demands commitment and sacrifice is being replaced by trendy religion designed to serve the selfish.

~Billy Graham

{The Reason For My Hope, p.105}

COMMENTARY

America is moving from Christianity to many religions, some think 310 million. Whereas I think 310 million is an exaggeration, I do agree that the trend is toward multi-culturalism with more isms and schisms than Carter has pills. One woman did a blend of Baha`i plus Native American and Christianity. Sociologist Robert Bellah tells about a woman named Sheila who said, “I can’t remember the last time I went to church. My faith has carried me a long way, it’s Sheilaism.  Just my own little voice telling me what to do. I just try to love myself and be gentle with myself.” These Hollywood types are really out there: Sharon stone claims to be both Buddhist and a believer in what she calls the traditional god. I have news for Sharon, God is a reality, not a tradition.

Jeroboam did not want the Israelites {North} to go to Jerusalem {South} to worship; so he designed his own religion and even made himself a priest. His religion was tailor made to suit his needs and enhance his political agenda. One of the tell-tell signs of a designer religion is its emphasis on works or performance. In designer religion, social awareness replaces Spirit-filled life and the emphasis is on ‘working for God’ rather than have Him work through us. This explains how they can go through an entire worship service and not mention Jesus. They have a religion without a Savior.

By the way, one of the new blends out is called “Chrislam,” and I do wish I was kidding. It is a blend between Christianity and Islam where differences are overlooked. This is not a good way to end a blog, you probably feel like throwing up. For the record, Christianity does not blend with any religion because it is not a religion. A religion did not die on the cross for our sins, Jesus did.

EXTRA

Someone ask me today how MY HOPE went and I said, “It is not gone.” People who think that MY HOPE is a thing of the past have missed the point. Unfortunately some pastors never attended training and they did not understand the purpose and intent of MY HOPE. Dr. Graham believes that half of the church folk in the pew are unsaved but they are gospel hardened. MY HOPE is about reaching those who do not attend church. It is about doing evangelism in the home, a restaurant or the office. Many lost people will not set foot inside a church. MY HOPE revealed our weakness: [1] Most of us don’t have lost friends and [2] We don care enough for the ones we have to risk rejection. It revealed our indifference and our fear. It is easy to show a Billy Graham video in a church service. As Wade says, “Church is like Six Flags Over Jesus.” It takes faith to do MY HOPE right and some preachers and members lacked such faith. It is not too late to get things right. Order Billy Graham’s THE REASON FOR MY HOPE and read it, then you will understand where I am coming from. I thought David made a great point Sunday night: if you invited a friend and they did not come or stood you up: they know why you invited them and thus they know you care. I know it hurts, I was deeply disappointed that many of my friends did not show but I tried and I am not quitting: I am going to try again. We have a great young couple that have literally kept me going through the months of preparing for MY HOPE. They had four people committed to coming to their MY HOPE party and none of them showed up. They were heartbroken but no ready to throw in the towel. Their exact words were: “We are going to try it again.”

COMMENTARY

Charles L. Allen, author of God’s Psychiatry, tells a very moving story in his book All Things Are Possible Through Prayer. He was invited to speak to 2,500 veterans. They were in an institution much like some of the homes that have three levels of care: unassisted, assisted and total care. He did not get to speak to all 2,500 at one time but he did get to address all of them either in groups on over the intercom. The head master of the institution briefed him before he spoke and this is what he said: “Don’t mention family or home, they have neither. Most of them do not have one visitor per year and then it’s not family, usually a care group from some organization. Try not to mention a bright future or a new tomorrow because they don’t have one.” Then he points out the window to the grave yard on the hill, “See those white crosses. This will be their next stop and not one soul will attend their funeral because all of them have been forgotten.”

I need to tell you that this is an old book, published over 40 years ago but I am afraid the same thing is happening today. When I read the story, I thought how lonesome it must make a person feel to be forgotten, then add to that pain the fact that these men risk their lives for our country. What a shameful way to treat our heroes. It sickens me that we go ape over endangered species and flakey civil rights groups while we do so little for our veterans.

EXTRA

First of all I want to wish all our veterans a happy Veteran’s Day. I also want to praise the LORD for his goodness. Brent Anders was baptized yesterday and we have more coming this Sunday. Our MY HOPE testimony service went well last night and then our Youth Party went great also. We didn’t have as many new folks as I was hoping for but we did have 56 in attendance which I though was good. As one of the youth explained during testimony, it is a process. Two of our kids basically said, “The Wednesday night supper was the hook that got them coming.” One of our high school coaches is the one who invited them and paid for their supper. All the testimonies were good and Joe David was the oldest person to testify. It has been a good week. THANK YOU JESUS! [Photos by Beth Wauford and Tracey Callahan]

Let me be the first to confess: there are times when I suffer from evangelism fatigue. I know I should care, I know I should reach out to them, I know I should talk to them about Jesus – but my motivation meter is hovering at low voltage.

COMMENTARY

I was saved from hell at the age of nine but being saved from myself is taking a lot longer. The LORD began dealing with me about being a witness in my teen age years and I tried once or twice and failed miserably. Finally, at age 17, I went to my pastor Calvin C. Inman and ask him if he would train me and he agreed; we started that very day. I went down on Sunday morning and we started that evening. I was scared spit-less. Before we pulled into the first yard, I saw where he was going and told him I could not go there because I had lived a compromising life in front of this man. Bro. Inman said, “Jack, you must ask God to forgive you and if this man brings it up, you ask him to forgive you. He never brought it up but I went ahead and confessed and ask for his forgiveness. He was gracious. God called me to be a witness before He called me to preach or pastor. The last few years, I have drifted from my calling. We do not migrate toward evangelism, we drift away from it. When I got the Graham’s letter [Tracey opened and gave to me], my heart skipped a few beats. I thought this may be what I need to get myself and the church back into the harvest. I was excited but afraid. In the average church 10% will respond to the call of a Matthew. I was afraid we might not have any. My first sigh of relief came on April 14 when we had 12 families respond. I was elated. Then I wrestled with anxiety of whether if was going to work at Danville. About two weeks ago I began to get some peace. The more I watched the videos, the more confidence I had that soul’s were going to be saved. We had a few of our 12 to drop out and I think we ended up doing 9 parties with 2 professions of faith. I know we could have done, and should have done better but I am thankful for what we did because it is what God has called us to do. God uses things like MY HOPE to prod us out of our comfort zone. I needed a prod and God has called me to be a prod. MY HOPE is not over: I think it is just beginning. I am convinced that our church does not have one problem that evangelism [obedience] cannot solve. Our greatest problem is a lack of love: For Jesus and lost people.

QUOTE

“You cannot have Jesus in your life without change.”

~William Franklin Graham

COMMENTARY

Jesus is not going to muscle His way into your life, it is not His nature but if you dare to invite Him in, you must understand that He will make radical changes. He will not leave you as you were. He is not going to ignore your sin nor your disobedience. He is not going to close His eyes and look the other way. He will hold you accountability for every transgression. From inside out, he is going to chip away at everything in your life that does not honor His Father. In Short, He is going to make you a new creation. As Paul said in Ephesians, “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

THE CROSS should be downloadable by now. My Hope is just beginning. We have four parties tonight and one tomorrow night. I thinking about another for a Sunday morning, just have not picked out the morning. I’ve seen THE CROSS three times now and I keep hearing things that I had not heard before. Last night, Franklin’s introduction jumped out at me. I plan to write Dr. Graham a thank you card. He really has a burden for our country and I truly appreciate what he has done. I am still appalled at how many churches did not participate. I attended the Pastor’s conference last Monday and I don’t think it was even mentioned. I did get there a few minutes late. I think about all the things we could have done and should of done but thank God for what has been done. I  am convinced that a lot of people are going to be saved in spite of indifferent churches. Keep praying for the parties: don’t let up. We had another Profession of Faith reported last night from Jason’s group. Praise The LORD!

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

QUOTE

Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m  right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t  know which will go first – rock and roll or Christianity.
~John Lennon

COMMENTARY

Singer/songwriter John Lennon is famous for his ballad “Imagine,” which invites people to imagine an existence where there is no Heaven, no Hell, no religion and everyone is “Living in the now.” Saying there is no hell does not make it so. This is precisely what the Bible is talking about in Romans one, “And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.” Satan is a diabolical saboteur; he undermines and he substitutes a lie for the truth, the false for the real. He creates a religion which has no redeemer, a church that has no cross [commitment], and worship without the word. Satan is at work to deceive the world and one of his many deceptions is that hell is not a place of torment but a party for the self-willed. Hell is no happy hour. Oh that it was an hour!

For the record: Christianity is not dead or dying. John was wrong, woefully wrong! As for as the Beetles being more popular than Jesus, I don’t think so. They were a faint blip on the radar of time while Jesus is the Lord of history and the center. I have not heard any talk of changing the calendar to BB and AB [Before Beetles and After Beetles], have you?

My Hope Off To Great Start

EXTRA

The above thought came from Billy Graham’s latest book, THE REASON FOR MY HOPE, page 136. I have never read a Billy Graham book from cover to cover until this one. My motivation for reading this one was to verse myself in My Hope, to learn all I could before we kicked it off. It is a great book. Chapters 1,5,6,7 are outstanding. I highly recommend you read it and it would make a great Christmas gift for a friend who does not know Christ as Savior.

The LORD answers prayer but usually not this soon. We made a decision yesterday to pray for 8 attendees to the MY HOPE party, we had 11 plus those that helped us host. All the kids watched the video. We had a total of 19 kids and all. I think Joe David had 11 with one profession of faith. We have 2-3 parties tomorrow night and 3 on Saturday. Folks, My Hope is just beginning. It is not too late to get involved. The second answer to prayer came today also: for our MY HOPE mail out and visitation, $3,000.00 was pledge yesterday. One call came about 8:30 am and the other came about 5:30. Can you believe it! We will go to work on the mail out Tuesday. It will be a full color MY HOPE post card offering free gifts to anyone who responds and allows us to deliver the gifts. Our gifts will be HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPYThe Reason For My Hope…and the My Hope CD which is great. I love the 2nd song entitled “So Great.” David and the Giants will like it I think. The My Hope post card will go to 6,000 homes in the greater Danville area. The LORD is good.

This is not official but I think the Wade Morris love offering was over $6,000.00. Thanks for supporting the Revival. We are going to meet with Matthews again this Sunday and then we will debrief on the Revival the next Sunday. There is a possibility that we could get Wade back: feel free to give us fed-back. We probably need to act within the next month. The Lord has given us a great week and it is not over.

COMMENTARY

Several years ago, the president of Harvard University had the privilege of talking with Billy Graham. Dr. Graham asked the president this question, “What appears to be the thing that young people are looking for the most?” Without a moments hesitation, the president of Harvard answered, “They want to belong.” In October of 2102, just a little more than a year ago, Forbes reported Facebook had topped a billion users–one out of even seven on the planet. Some think this phenomenon is driven by our craving for social acceptance. The most popular feature of Facebook, is the users ability to include or exclude: it is called “Befriending” and “Defriending.” Reuters reported that a young couple was murdered in their home by someone they had defriended.

A recent article in USA Today reports…”Young adults appear to be uninterested in correct doctrine. Their god is too big to be bound by scripture; there is less emphasis on ‘believing’ and more on ‘belonging.’ What they are saying is that their religion is governed by what they choose to believe. I think tithing is a perfect example: they believe their god is not bounded by the law of the Old Testament. Therefore they do not commit to a tithe and justify their actions by their beliefs. Tithing has nothing to do with what you believe: it is a principle born out of the heart of God and taught throughout the word of God. It is the biblical way to finance His work in this world. I think the world is turning to Swamp Johns but that is not God’s way. Tithing involves a commitment and herein lies the problem.

COMMENTARY

The word psychiatry is a compound word. It comes from two Greek words–psyche which means ‘soul’ and  iatreia which means treatment, healing or restoration. David uses both words in Psalm 23:3 when he says, “The LORD restores my soul.”  David proclaims the LORD as the healer of the mind. Charles Allen said, “The mind that thinks error is a sick mind.” If Allen is correct, we have a lot of sick minds. If you think killing a baby is OK, you have a sick mind. If you think two men living together is OK, you have a sick mind. One thing is certain, only Jesus can heal the mind. He is the Restorer of the soul.

You may find an example on YouTube. Kirsten Powers is a Fox News analysis who was recently converted from atheism to Christianity. Christ has changed the way she thinks.

Great service last night and better attendance [211]. I’ve never heard Wade preach a bad sermon but last night was great. I loved it! I had a down day yesterday, a spirit of depression settled in on me like a dark cloud. I think we were all struggling in our pre-service prayer meeting and then the LORD lifted our spirits in the service. David and the guys are doing an outstanding job. That last song we did really put icing on the cake. David, Sloan and Brian will be singing tonight: I love it when they sing together. Tyler Beck said he would sing a special for us Sunday. The YOUTH will do their part tonight: adults, we are the ones who have our work cut out for us. We still have a lot of members that are not showing up. Keep praying and keep inviting. Prayer for MY HOPE. I got a chance to share with a good friend yesterday because of MY HOPE. I lack two chapters finishing Dr. Grahams latest book which is the only book of his that I have read. It is a great evangelistic tool. Chapter one will get them hooked: story after story and chapter five gets into apologetics.

I pulled Ken aside on Sunday and then couldn’t remember what it was that I needed but it is the above electrical problems. If some one feels a burst of energy, we need new bulbs in the FORTE foyer and front porch. I replaced the ones on the cross walk yesterday.

Pray For MY HOPE

Pray For MY HOPE

SCRIPTURE

And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.”

~Genesis 3:11-12, NASB

QUOTE

Sin is definitely in every single heart that beats.

~Billy Graham

COMMENTARY

God will hold us accountable just as He did Adam. You may take your sin lightly but God does not. He ask Adam a simple question, “Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” Simple question and very direct. It deserved a direct answer and that answer is in the last two words that Adam spoke, “I ate.” God said “did you eat” and all Adam had to say was “I ate” but that is not all he said. First he says, “The woman YOU gave me, she gave to me”. It may be subtle, but Adam is blaming God for his sin and he throws Eve under the bus in the same breath. Do we think that alibis, excuses, blaming others or just flat out denial of our sin is going to change the consequences. If so, you need to think again.

EXTRA

We had good services but I was disappointed in the attendance. We do have some sickness but it’s mostly the same old same old: self-interest before His interest. Billy Graham agrees with me that this selfish inclination is the essence of sin. We have so many needs, I don’t understand how any believer cannot be concerned about REVIVAL. It is what it is which gives us all the more reason to pray. On a lighter side, I blogged about GIFT CARDS and mentioned that I had one in my billfold that did not get thrown away like my Huntsville Hospital parking card when my sweetie changed my billfold out a few months back. She came and ask for the card and I gave it to her; it had $50 on it and she has been to McDonald’s twice. Remember the service will begin at 7:00; pre-service prayer meeting at 6:30. Pray for REVIVAL and MY HOPE.

SCRIPTURE

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.

~Psalm 130:7, NKJV

QUOTE

No creature that deserved Redemption would need to be redeemed. They that are whole need not the physician. Christ died for men precisely because men are not worth dying for; to make them worth it.

~C.S. Lewis

COMMENTARY

Gift-CardI have a gift card that has out lived two billfold, maybe three. I’ve had it so long, I am embarrassed to ask the folks at McDonald’s if it is still valid. Most gift cards have an expiration date. You might be shocked to learn that I am not alone, Americans are sitting on 30 billion dollars worth of unused gift cards–gifts never redeemed! The giver of the gift card paid the price but the receiver thought so little of the gift that he or she has never used the card to redeem the gift. What do you call a person who does not use a gift card? I bet you thought “stupid” didn’t you? We might call them forgetful which is true of myself. We might call the proud or ungrateful but one thing is certain, we cannot call them wise.

Jesus paid for our sins in full at Calvary, thus salvation is a free gift. The precious blood of Christ paid for all sins for all time. There is no sin not covered by his blood. Million will die lost and go to hell but not because of their sins. They will go to hell because they did not trust Christ for redemption. They had a gift card and refused to use it.

EXTRA

Keep in mind that I can post anytime after 9:00 pm and it is dated for the next day. Toward the weekend, I post at night. Some people read them immediately [like Big Mama] so just keep in mind this post is for Saturday, November 2. Tonight is my favorite night of the year, praise God, hallelujah, tonight we fall back. I bet I’m the only person in the entire church that hates Daylights Savings Time. What I really hate is changing back and forth, back and forth. I’d be willing to go either way if they would just leave it alone. I hear this excuse about kids riding buses in the dark: no problem, do like Georgia and start school at 9:00 am. and let them out at 3:00. If you can’t teach a kid to read and write in 6 hours, the 7th is not going to help. If we keep letting the liberals run things, these poor kids will be going to school year round and 12 hours a day. It’s about time we had an uprising and put a stop to some of this nonsense. Set the time and leave it alone and stop running buses at 6:00 am which is too early no matter if the sun is up or down. We have too much school, we pay too much in taxes and we have too many liberals in Washington which is another reason we need REVIVAL: Amen, or Oh me!

PRAYER MEETING in the morning at 8:15 for Matthews and Revival. If you have a burden to pray, come and join us. We will not have too many: if the room is full, we’ll use two rooms.
