I have to give the liberals credit for their tremendous faith, they believe in the illogical and the impossible. Actually their faith is not in question, it is the object of their faith. When you see a house, you know their was a builder. When you see a garden, you know there was a gardener. When you see a creation, you know there is a CREATOR. It’s not rocket science but if you are a Christ hating liberal, you are not going to except the truth no matter how obvious.

I could be happy in a world without liberals: I can’t think of anything they contribute, can you?

• I stayed locked in my office yesterday to prepare for Sunday but I am going to try to make some visits today.
• Fletcher Hill arrangement: Shelton’s Saturday at 2:00, visitation 12:00-2:00, burial at Johnson’s Chapel.
• Workday is still on for Saturday: Meet at the church at 10:30. We will probably do one yard. College age going to Guatemala-you have to get two of these ministry projects under your belt. Joe David will not be able to help us but we will get Brian to take his place.
• LUKE 14 this Sunday at 5:30. You bring 2 liter drinks, veggies, desserts, cakes, pies, sweets, desserts, Apple Dumplings and desserts. The church will provide turkey, chicken, dressing, tea, and rolls. 
• We will have AWANA on Sunday nights November 29 and December 6–then Children’s Christmas Play on December 13 and our Christmas Supper on the 20th. All begin at 5:30 and no service on December 27th.
• Joe David had 33 at the College Bible Study. WOW!

Most people, unfortunately, think they live in the gray area being neither for Christ nor against Him but Jesus the Creator and Governor of the universe says otherwise. No liberal will agree with Jesus but this is just one of many things that makes them stupid. Jesus said, “Who isn’t with me opposes me.” I wonder what He meant? Seriously! B.B. McKinney understood what Jesus meant, he wrote, “I stood alone at the bar of God in the hush of the twi-light dim, and faced the question that pierced my heart, What will you do with Him? Crown or crucify, which will it be, no other choice was offered to me.” I don’t see a gray area in there, do you? I know it is logical and liberals do not use logic but no decision is a decision. Unless you repent, by default, you are in opposition to Christ. Don’t get ticked at me, I didn’t make the rules: I’m just telling you what they are.

• Thank the LORD for Jay Gordon. The man is a genius. He got us back on line is 20 minutes. The church will keep its domain name danvillebaptist.org. There are several Danville Baptist Churches in the US but Jay got us this domain before the others go on line. Sometime during this year, {Lord willing} Jay is going to help me get my own domain but the church will keep the old one. We are in Jay’s debt.

It is an unwritten rule that the majority is commonly silent. Jesus was not hated by the public, He was hated by the Jewish religious leaders. Not many people are on the streets at day break. The Jewish priest stirred up the rabble, the pick pockets, the homeless, the beggars and created a mob. The Jews were very good at this and it worked: Pilate was intimidated by the vocal minority.

Over 80% of Alabamians voted to keep marriage between a man and woman but the devil stirred up the rabble and we are allowing less than 15% of the populist  dictate policy. They did not have a majority when they took over our schools or our court rooms and now they intend to take over our churches. They are going to tell us what we can preach and who we can marry: yeah, right, when pigs fly. We need revival in America. As Franklin said, “If we don’t stand together, we are going to hang separately.” This God hating crowd is coming after the church.

I heard a radio ad yesterday by some second rate movie star who was whining about the destruction of our wildlife. Obviously, the idiot lives in suburban California and not in rural Alabama. When I heard him talking about wildlife being wiped out, I laughed out loud. I wish he would visit me during garden season. We don’t have a single ground hog, they are all married with children. Old grandpa probably weights 30 pounds and he has a host of grand hogs and great grand hogs. The coon population in these parts is devastating to those who try to raise a few roasting ears. I have an armadillo if anyone wants one. Who in their right mind wants to save the opossums? I would love to carry a truck load of these creatures to our freakish friends in Hollywood. These Hollywood psycho’s don’t know their backside from a hole in the ground. PETA, People for the ethical treatment of animals has ads encouraging parents to give their children beer instead of milk. Tell me this is not wacko. Do these bird brains understand what happens to a cow that is not milked? Most of them have never lived on a farm or in the forest. They don’t know beans from Iris potatoes.

What does this have to do with Christmas? Absolutely nothing! These folks will picket for animal rights but all of them are pro-abortion. Doesn’t make sense, does it! A liberal would not know logic if it bit them on the neck. Most of the PETA demonstration images cannot be posted on a Christian blog.

Choices And Consequences

Life is about choices, we all make them every day. Some are big and some are small. Some are between right and wrong. Some are between better and best but all choices have consequences. I live with regrets due to bad choices. I don’t think you will find many honest adults that do not have some regrets linked to choices they made. Take Josephs brothers in the scripture verse above, they regretted the way they treated Joseph.  A man in the process of divorce told me, “It is my fault Bro. Jack, all my fault.” I looked at him in unbelief and said, “It is never all one person’s fault.” He said, “In this case it is, I made a bad choice.” He was right about one thing, some divorces happen because the decision to marry the person in the first place was a bad choice.

 I know a woman who got to church, I think she sang in the choir; another lady looked down and said, “Do you know that one of your shoes is blue and the other black.” She made a bad choice and it had an embarrassing consequence. She thought for minute and then said, “Oh, I have another pair at home just like theses.” There is a world of difference between picking out the wrong outfit and sleeping with someone else’s wife or husband, whatever the case may be.

A man came to me several years ago and told me he was going to divorce his wife for a younger model and I think the idiot wanted my blessing. He said, “David did it and God forgave him. If He forgave David, He will forgive me.” I went into orbit, I said, “Maybe you need to read your bible all the way through and check out the consequences that David suffered for his foolish decision.” You cannot steal a man’s wife and then have him murdered without grave consequences and if you think otherwise, you are a fool. Hey, you are not an exception to the rule: that kind of twisted thinking is what got David in trouble. You roll in the hay and you will pay just like David: God may let you live but you will wish you were dead before all is said and done.

• June named our dog Lizzie. She is a loveable creature but did not keep the groundhogs out of the corn. I think she will do better once she gets acclimated.

I know this is going to be hard to believe but the infamous Jimmy Carter was the first president to declare war on the West. They rebelled against Carter’s extreme [insane] environmental policies and the revolt was dubbed the “Sagebrush Rebellion”. Reagan made fun of Carter’s policies, then defeated him in the biggest landslide in America history and stopped the war against the west. Then along came slick Willy who took up where Carter left off but Clinton was a Cub Scout compared to Obama. The EPA is out of control and needs to be abolished. Obama has empowered this bunch of loony tunes to operate like environmental police. Obama has declared war on coal which has hurt Wyoming and he has continued the war on oil. We have more oil on these Federal reserves than the rest of the world put together and these wacko-weirdo-fruitcake-liberal-extremist empowered by the democratic party have been red tapping us since Truman. When are we going to get fed up with these idiots? I am just wondering!

• AWANA is in remission until August and so are the Wednesday night suppers. Next Wednesday night we host Baccalaureate at 6:30 and the next week is VBS and VBX…June 2-6.
• Gary and I met today on the handicap ramp: our two work days for phase I is Friday night May 30th [6:00-9:00] and then Saturday morning May 31st.
• Remember Sunday is a lighter schedule: you get to sleep a little later. No Deacons meeting, no LCBS. We begin at 10:15 with worship. I will have donuts and biscuits at the Parlor by 9:30. We will be offering COMMUNION Sunday night at 6:00.

COMMENTARY

The world is antichrist. David prophesied it, Jesus declared it and you and are witnesses to the fact. The question is WHY do they have  such a fanatical hatred for Jesus? We are talking about a perfect man who never harmed a soul, never took a life, never did anything selfish, not even use His powers to save Himself. He lived a life of total self-denial, suffered the shame of our sin and the agony of crucifixion because He chose to do so for our sakes. How do you hate someone who is good?

This is the heart of the problem: the world hates Jesus because He is good. He is the light and He shines on the darkness and depravity of our lives. Men love darkness rather than life because their deeds are evil. A very small child is transparent but with time, even children learn to act and pretend. We adults are professional actors. The Greek word for actor is hypocrite. The Pharisees and Scribes were very good at acting; so good that they had deceived the masses but they did not fool Jesus because He knew their heart and their motive. Jesus called them anything but good: snakes, white washed tomb stones, sons of the devil, greedy and hypocrites just to mention a few.

We don’t like to be called out. The Jewish religious leaders hated Jesus because He exposed their sin. Then He had the audacity to call for their repentance and this insulted their sense of morality. Jesus also demanded the death to self and absolute surrender to His will. One other reason the  political correct world system hates Jesus is His word, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” This statement infuriated them.

COMMENTARY

I have a gift card that has out lived two billfold, maybe three. I’ve had it so long, I am embarrassed to ask the folks at McDonald’s if it is still valid. Most gift cards have an expiration date. You might be shocked to learn that I am not alone, Americans are sitting on 30 billion dollars worth of unused gift cards–gifts never redeemed! The giver of the gift card paid the price but the receiver thought so little of the gift that he or she has never used the card to redeem the gift. What do you call a person who does not use a gift card? I bet you thought “stupid” didn’t you? We might call them forgetful which is true of myself. We might call the proud or ungrateful but one thing is certain, we cannot call them wise.

Jesus paid for our sins in full at Calvary, thus salvation is a free gift. The precious blood of Christ paid for all sins for all time. There is no sin not covered by his blood. Million will die lost and go to hell but not because of their sins. They will go to hell because they did not trust Christ for redemption. They had a gift card and refused to use it.

Keep in mind that I can post anytime after 9:00 pm and it is dated for the next day. Toward the weekend, I post at night. Some people read them immediately [like Big Mama] so just keep in mind this post is for Saturday, November 2. Tonight is my favorite night of the year, praise God, hallelujah, tonight we fall back. I bet I’m the only person in the entire church that hates Daylights Savings Time. What I really hate is changing back and forth, back and forth. I’d be willing to go either way if they would just leave it alone. I hear this excuse about kids riding buses in the dark: no problem, do like Georgia and start school at 9:00 am. and let them out at 3:00. If you can’t teach a kid to read and write in 6 hours, the 7th is not going to help. If we keep letting the liberals run things, these poor kids will be going to school year round and 12 hours a day. It’s about time we had an uprising and put a stop to some of this nonsense. Set the time and leave it alone and stop running buses at 6:00 am which is too early no matter if the sun is up or down. We have too much school, we pay too much in taxes and we have too many liberals in Washington which is another reason we need REVIVAL: Amen, or Oh me!

COMMENTARY

A few years back a man by the name of Rick Santorum was running for president and he made the statement that he believed the devil had targeted America. The secular media went into a frenzy. Go back a few more years and the greatest president in our life time referred to communism as the evil empire. The secular media made every attempt to vilify him but he was too popular and they had to let it go. In one century, communism murdered more Christians than all other persecutors combined over the 19 previous centuries.  Secular humanist [liberals] are hypocrites: they say there is no such thing as evil and then they put dead bolt locks on their doors. Jesus prayed that we would be delivered from evil and He would not have prayed such a prayer if evil did not exist. Our problem is that we do not understand how evil works. We are looking for a man with horns, dressed in flaming red and carrying a pitch fork. Evil is much more subtle, matter of fact, evil often appears to be good. Evil works in degrees via the compromise. Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom and then he pitched it again, this time a little closer to Sodom, and again until he was near the wall and then he sold his tent and bought a condo in Sodom. He would have been destroyed by the evil  of Sodom had not it been for his uncle’s faithful intercession and intervention of God. How much have you compromised in the last decade? What are you doing now that was totally unacceptable ten years ago? “Father, deliver us from evil, the evil one and his evil schemes.”

Stew tonight from 5:30-7:00. It is one of our longest running traditions that began back in the early 80’s. Traditions are hard to maintain these days. The AWANA kids are doing hay rides and I think they want to leave about 6:15 and get back no later than 7:15. Choir will met at 7:00 but Adults and Youth will not met. Just come enjoy a bowl of stew on the house. Bring a dessert or drink if want but you don’t have to bring anything. Tomorrow night is TRUNK-A-TREAT from 6:00-7:00 pm. They have changed the weather forecast, rain holding off until later in the night but even if it rains, we will use the FORTE. We always do TRUNK-A-TREAT on October 31  come rain, sun, volley ball or high water.

The Muslims gunned down a little ten year old Coptic Christian girl who was on her way home from Sunday School. They justify such atrocious violence by blaming Christians for the removal of their president. First of all, there is no justification for murdering a ten year old child. The Western media, except for Fox, has shown no moral outrage. Can you imagine the frenzy if this had been 10 year old Muslim murdered by Christians? None is more blind than he who refuses to see. The typical liberal response is that this is just a radical element of Islam. Let me get something straight: there are Muslims who believe in violence and there are Muslims who oppose violence, is this right? What if we have a group of Southern Baptist who start murdering 10 year old Muslims and our response is…”These are not typical Baptist, they are the extremist, the radical element of the convention.” No, that would not be our response, we would distance ourselves from the haters immediately: someone would have to come up with a new name. We would be the first to denounce the violence of the haters. Why doesn’t this happen in Islam? Why do you never hear one Muslim condemn another for killing a Christian or a Jew or anyone who opposes them?

Did you remember Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggert. Did the media point out that they were Assembly of God.  No, they did not, the lumped them into the same basket as all other professing believers. All Christians suffered reproach for what these two did. The world which includes the media does not make a distinction between one Christian group and another but with Muslims, they continually tell us that there are distinctions…the Muslims who shot a 10 year old girl through the heart are not representative of all Muslims. Bologna, use your brain folks, if you were a member of a religion that practiced hate and murder, wouldn’t you find another religion? You would unless deep down your were in agreement or sympathy. If Southern Baptist start killing ten year old kids who refuse to become Southern Baptist, I am going to have be something other than a Southern Baptist. I’ll go one better than that: if Southern Baptist vote next June to condone abortion, I will become something other than a Southern Baptist. It is black and white, why can’t people see the truth? By the way, Southern Baptist are more pro-life than ever, I was just using that as an analogy.

• I talked to Ronnie Shipley on Friday…He said the triplets are doing well. He was telling me that one was not found for a while because he was so small. The doctor suggest removing him saying he was not getting enough nourishment. Emily said no, “God put him there and we are going to leave him.” I think Ronnie said that in two weeks, he not only caught his brothers, he passed them. He is now the biggest of the three. Our God is an awesome God, amen!
• My sister Beth had a surprise Birthday party last night at Terranova Italian Restaurant. I almost made myself sick eating the bread. I was out late and got in bed late.  Yes, I missed the football game but from what I’ve heard, didn’t miss much.
