Scripture

I know that You {LORD} can do anything, and no one can stop you.”

~Job 42:2, NLT

Quote

One thing is certain, we humans are not in control.

~Joe David Bailey

A familiar greeting here in the South is “What do you know?” My answer is usually, “Not much.” It is true, there is more that I don’t know than there is that I do know. Like Job, I know that God is sovereign and in complete control but  I do not know the future. I know I must be cautious about promises made because I may not be able to keep them. I know that there are many things in life that intimidate me; mountains too high to climb and rivers too deep to cross. But I do know that Jesus loves me and I love Him. I know I love my wife, children and grandchildren.

Brenan Manning believed that Jesus will ask us one basic question on the day of judgment, “Do you, and did you believe while upon the earth that I loved you?” Why is it so hard to accept the fact that Jesus loves us? It may be due to the fact that we don’t always love ourselves. I read some where the other day, “Those who deserve love the least, need it the most.”

  • We are living life one day at a time. We think we have a plan in place that could possibly unfold today or tomorrow. We are hopeful but cautious. Keep praying. We don’t need money, we need prayer.
  • Sunday was just a wonderful experience. I am indebted to Amy and her team of servers and to Bro. John and Joye. We threw some things out for your consideration Sunday night and Jerry came up with a good idea. With the Saturday night Senior Adult service and a Swamp John’s as an outreach. No fund raising–just charge $8 per ticket. We have a better change of getting the music groups our seniors want on Saturday night.
  • Pray for the Business Meeting Sunday.
