Scripture

“Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”

Luke 5:12-13

The certainty of our salvation rests on the character of God.

There is no record in the gospels of Jesus refusing to help someone who called on Him in repentance and faith. The leper in Luke 5 came running to Jesus, bowed his face to the ground and begged, “LORD, if you are willing, you can make me clean,” What makes the gospel the gospel is Jesus response, “I am willing, Be healed!”.

How different the gospel would be had Jesus said to the leper, “I am not willing, burn in hell.”  The Reforms can divide churches, even take control of churches but they cannot build churches because they have gutted the gospel.

  • Glad to report that Buford had a great day on Sunday and a fair day yesterday. Gary Garner is in a room and can have company [460, DMH] He is improving daily and is not going to have another treatment I hope. Fuzz Dobbins is in 469 [same floor]. I got to listening to Fuzz and was there until after dark. Fuzz and Rose, what a delightful couple. Ben Blankenship’s dad is back at DMH.
  • Shelby has opposition: PTL. I want you to meet and check out his opposition. Jonathan McConnell, a Marine veteran and 33 years old. He cannot do worse than Shelby who is known for getting his face in the trough and bringing pork money to Alabama that only benefits large Corps.
