Scripture

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

~Psalm 103:3, NLT

Quote

“Knowing God without knowing our own wretchedness makes for pride. Knowing our own wretchedness without knowing God makes for despair. Knowing Jesus Christ strikes the balance because He shows us both God and our own wretchedness.”

~Blaise Pascal

The Old Testament Jewish Priest was more than a worship leader or interceder: he was also a medical examiner. When some one broke out in a rash or had any kind of skin sore; they had to go be examined by the priest. If the priest determined that it was contagious or rendered a person ceremonially unclean, they were quarantined. If it was a serious skin disease like leprosy, the person was isolated. Isolation meant being cut off from the community.

The Old Testament Priest could identify the problem but he had no remedy. He could share the bad news but he had no good news. I have good news–Jesus changed everything. He reveals our sin and moral sickness but He also provides the cure.

  • Children’s CHRISTMAS PLAY this evening at 5:30. This is a must see. It is going to be unbelievable. You think I am hyping it up for attendance sake: you are wrong, again.
  • I am tired yet thankful: Charles Randolph’s COLS went well. God gave us grace and I pray He got glory. Today’s schedule will be just as demanding but I wouldn’t want to miss it. I wouldn’t be offended if you prayed for me.
  • Congratulations to Derick Henry, not just for winning the Hiesman Trophy but for taking a bold stand for Our Savior.
