Scripture

“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.”

~Job 23:10, NLT

Quote

You can be sure, God is working mysteriously in your life just as He was in Jobs–To purify you and glorify Himself.

Job’s life is not a mystery to us: we have the  record to read and study but Job was in quandary. He did not know what God was doing nor why. In spite of the tragedy, the grief, the lost, the sorrow, the sickness,  the foolish wife and the fickle friends, Job refused to curse God and deny his faith. In the end, the devil lost his bet and Job was restored two-fold.

There may be something going on in your life right now that you just don’t understand. You don’t know what God is doing or why. God is under no obligation to fully inform us before He acts, plus He works on an infinite level that we cannot comprehend. Just trust Him to work it out for your good and His glory. If we have nothing to endure, we can never learn endurance.

  • Down a tad last night: Good service. I was afraid that switching our PM formats would hurt us but it has helped. Thank You Jesus. You are tender and full of mercy. Thank You!
  • Work day this Saturday. We meet at church at 10:30 am. Joe David requires two local Ministry Projects for you to go to Guatemala. If you don’t show up, you are not going. Adults, we could use some help and supervision.
  • Fletcher Hill was promoted early yesterday morning. We have no arrangements.
  • Gary Garner had a better day yesterday but his counts are not high enough that we can visit. We should be able to go by Saturday evening. He has his final chemo next Wednesday [we hope] and a PET scan the following week. Pray for Gary.
  • Bill Wilbourn is not making much progress: I know he is discouraged, I don’t see how he could be any other way.
  • Kerri is still having headaches and not getting to take the treatments at Vanderbilt. It’s a prayer matter, we need a miracle of sorts.
  • I can’t make sense of Michelle’s FB page but I think Kane got a good report. It sounds like she is reporting on two different people so to get the facts, go to her page. I don’t have this facebook thing down to pat.
