SCRIPTURE

Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.

John 8:56, NLT

QUOTE

In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.

The Jewish religious leaders claimed to be sons of Abraham but they hated Jesus. In truth, they were nothing like Abraham. There are six principles of faith and Abraham exemplifies all six: the Jewish religious leaders exemplify none of the six.

  1. VOICE–Hear God… “Now the LORD said to Abram” [Genesis 12:1]
  2. VENTURE–Obey God…”So Abram went forth as the LORD had spoken to him” [Genesis 12:4]
  3. VALUE–Fear God…”Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God” [Genesis 22:12]
  4. VISION–See God…”They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it.” [Hebrews 11:13]
  5. VIGILANCE–Trust God…”It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice”
  6. VICTORY–Love God and “Celebrate Jesus”…Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad. [John 8:56]

  • Gary Garner still very weak: please continue to pray.
  • Jonah Clark has surgery in Huntsville this morning.
  • Michelle on Kane: Blood sugar has been below 400 all day. We may get to the Ronald McDonald House tomorrow. Craig is traveling back home. Kane feels good today and is ready to get out of here!
  • Two good services at Belleview. Haley’s aunt plays the piano and Charles brother Robert runs the sound. Ole Charlie has been holding out on us–I bet running sound runs in the family. I heard good things about DBC. I hate I missed Haley and Charity. They will have to do a rerun in a couple of weeks.
  • Due to getting home late and having to rise early, you didn’t get much of blog but I will catch up later.
