Be Fruitful And Multiply

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply.”

~Genesis 1:27-28, NLT

If we truly love someone, we will not engage is sexual activity with them simply to satisfy our lust. Agape love does not take, it does not exploit, nor does it cheapen another human being in order to be sexually gratified.

Chip Ingram

Chip Ingram is a pastor from California who wrote six of our Sunday School lessons this past January and February. One of those lesson was entitled, “When sex is destructive.” I want to restate what Chip said because he said it so well: God designed sex primarily for procreation but also for pleasure, relational intimacy between a man and woman and to illustrate the relationship between Christ and His church. God wants us to enjoy sex at the right time with the right person and in the right relationship. Sex outside of God’s intended purpose leads to shame and destruction.

As Christians, we have a moral obligation to discourage anyone from taking part in destructive behavior. Paul said to the Ephesians [5:3-5], Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.  Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. The Greek word for immorality in verse 3 is ‘porneia’ from which we get the word pornography. As a Christian, would you encourage a person to engage in pornography? Why not?

Ted Bundy

You know the answer to both: pornography is highly destructive.  Our older readers will remember Theodore Robert {Ted} Bundy (November 24, 1946 – January 24, 1989). Bundy was a serial killer, kidnapper and rapist. Shortly before his execution, after more than a decade of denials, he confessed to 30 homicides committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978. Most of the girls he kidnapped, raped and killed were college students. Some say he killed before he raped. He also confessed to being addicted to pornography. The authorities believe that he raped and killed more than the 30 he identified. I wonder how these 30 families feel about pornography? It would take an absolute fool to deny the harmful effects of pornography. Shun it as if it was the black plague.

Under attack from the homosexual community and radical Islam.

Check out this broadcast on Taxing churches and who initiated the IRS rat trap. Very interesting.
