Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

~I Timothy 4:12

A family is a place where principles are hammered and honed on the anvil of everyday living.

~Chuck Swindoll

my thoughts red

This is a paste job: these are not my words. When Joe Hoover was promoted, someone placed his books at the Associational office and I picked a little book up of devotionals for men and these words come directly from this book.

As a Christian man, God has called you to be a spiritual leader in your home. This is an awesome responsibility and one God is eager to help you fulfill. First of all, it means you need to set an example of godly character. This does not mean that God expects you to be perfect. He simply means He wants you to do your best by taking advantage of all the resources He has given you: reading the bible daily, spending time in prayer and be willing always to do the right thing.

As your family sees your effort to walk in godly character, they will be more willing to follow your godly lead. Will you step up to the plate–for your family’s sake?

Revival Strip

  • Today we PRAY for the WORLD: a sin cursed broken world that needs Jesus and doesn’t know it!
  • Another good night at Sardis Springs. Great attendance and good spirit. One of the Senior adults was giving me feed back during the presentation but I kept going since it was a relative. I got her stirred up on the subject of worship. She was also worried about me driving home in the fog, there was no fog. There was a tad going up but none coming back.
  • Kelvin and Tracey will be carrying Keri to Children’s today at 1:00 PM. I went by to see her yesterday evening. She did not feel good but was not in a lot of pain at the time.
  • The weather is not supposed to get bad until mid-night or later so we are going to have Mid-week services with supper at 5:30, AWANA at 6:15 and the GATHERING at 6:30 Joe David will be preaching. We are going to get rain but no ice until Thursday morning, LORD willing.
  • We are 7 houses short of our goal of 20: we have a couple of more weeks to give. You can do them in anyone’s memory.
  • Don’t forget no Deacon’s meeting this Sunday because we SPRING UP!
