SCRIPTURE

Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because He is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And His called and chosen and faithful ones will be with Him.

~Revelation 17:14, NLT

QUOTE

“Thou art coming to a King, large petitions with thee bring, for His grace and power are such none can ever ask too much.”
― John Newton

my thoughts red

I was anxious about yesterday’s message: I had a lot of notes and I didn’t want to leave anything out…Well I got away from the notes and left a lot out, including the John Newton quote above. Herod the great ruled by force and fear. People feared Herod but few if any loved him. Jesus is the Shepherd King who laid down His life for His subjects. We have a True King, the King of kings: He commands our respect but we have moved from fear to love. The Wise Men did not bow in fear; they bowed in adoration. O come let us adore HIM!

extra 2

  • Today we pray for MINISTERS and MISSIONARIES. We have a lot of Missionaries on the field that will spend Christmas away from their extended family. Let’s say a prayer for the Ken Blackwood Family.
  • Pray also for Kenny Holladay. Pray hard.
  • Office open today until 4:00. We will be gone from 11:00-1:00 today for office Christmas Party. Tuesday we are open from 8:00-12:00.
  • I loved the service yesterday and so did Kay and some of our new folks. I have not got all the names straightened out but the couple that bought Larry Segars old place are coming and they love it! We had a small choir but they sounded great on AWESOME GOD. Congregation, you were good too. I love to hear you sing much more than you love to hear me.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, “Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see?”  The Lone Ranger replies, “I see millions of stars.” “What that tell you?” asked Tonto. The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, “Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.” “What’s does it tell you, Tonto, my brave an astute Indian friend?” Tonto said, “Kemo Sabe, it tell me that someone stole tent.”

The moral of the story is do not condescend to those who you think are of a lower estate.
