Spiritual Suicide

The wicked commit slow suicide; they waste their lives hating the good.

~Psalm 34:21, MSG

There is a way that seems right to a man but its end is the way of death.

my thoughts red

A lot of time and effort is spent these days hating Jesus. I think it was in December of 2012 that the American Atheists launched a major billboard display declaring Christmas better without Christ. The huge 40’x40′ digital billboard was located in Times Square in Midtown Manhattan. Using motion graphics, the billboard proclaims, “Who needs Christ during Christmas?” A hand crosses out the word “Christ” and the word “NOBODY” appears. The display then says… “Celebrate the true meaning of Xmas” and offers a series of cheery words: family, friends, charity, food, snow, and more.

AtheistThis is the statement made by David Silverman [a Christ hating Jew] and American Atheists President. The same organization which Madalyn Murray O’Hair was president. They have less than 2,000 members which should tell us something. Silverman said, “This year, start a new tradition: Don’t go to church. You hate it, it’s boring; you probably only go because you feel guilty or obligated. Instead, spend more time with your family and friends—or volunteer. There are better uses of your time and money.” Silverman is a fool who is executing his own soul and doesn’t know it–which is what makes him a fool.

To a sane God-fearing conservative 2+2=4. Albert Einstein would agree with us, right! This is not the way the Christ hating liberals think. They do not operate by logic; they go by feelings. It’s like–spell Christmas. If you take Christ out of Christmas you have a boring religion like atheism. Where did we bored Christians get the idea that there was no Christmas until Christ came? Wild guess–could it be history! Liberals are morons and atheist are fools.

Thank You Father for Christmas; for the Gift that keeps on giving forever. Have mercy on the unbelieving world. Grant us the courage to declare our faith in Christ and our love of Christmas.

  • WOW! We had a great crowd in the GATHERING and I had 56 for preaching. I was thrilled.
  • Today we pray for those facing TRIALS and Kenny Holladay is at the top of our list. I hope to get to see Kenny Friday or Saturday. We have a long list of folks battling cancer including Larry Garner, Angie Blackburn, James Floyd Bailey, and some taking chemo as a prevention like Wendy Turner {Darlene’s sister-in-law}. I talked to Ken Tuesday night, Wendy is doing well. Hey, I know everyone has their own list, just pause for a moment and lift up a prayer for those who are having a difficult time.
  • I think it is settled: the SENIOR ADULT CHRISTMAS PARTY will be at Cracker Barrel in Hartselle at 9:00 am on December 5 which is a Friday. I have all the widows and I’m going to let the men pay for their wives if that is OK. My administrative assistant is excited and Big Mama likes the idea. I hope you like it as well.
  • Remember, no deacon’s meeting this Sunday: LCBS at 9:00 and worship celebration at 10:15 with a baptism as the grand finale.
  • I love Christmas and Grandkids. I have a grandchild I didn’t know about until last night. She is 17 and her name is Billy. Unfortunately, she is not playing with a full deck. She is a few fries short of a happy meal. It was a shocking revelation.

Enjoyed your post! I wrote a very heart-felt post this week about some of the same things you mentioned here. Check it out if you have a moment. God bless! http://reststopforthesoul.com/2014/11/19/4-reasons-why-im-not-celebrating-christmas/

I did check it out: good post. I am much older than you. I don’t shop. Christmas is not a hassle to me: it was at one time but not anymore. I am also guilty of listening to Christmas Music by November 1. I listen to 105.1 FM Jackson on line but I understand where you are coming from and you have the right attitude. Keep writing!
