SCRIPTURE

“We are not able to go up against this people, for they are stronger than we.” So they brought to the Israelites an unfavorable report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land that we have gone through as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people that we saw in it are of great size.

~Numbers 13:31-32, The Voice

Your attitude, not your aptitude will determine your altitude.

Celebrate Jesus.crimsonjpgMoses was the greatest leader in the world and the Israelites the most intelligent and resilient people in the world, so why did they not accomplish their mission. If you have the best coach and the best players how can you lose? It’s simple, it is a thing called attitude. Moses sent out 12 spies and two came back with a glowing report but the other ten were negative. They were so negative that an epidemic of fear and panic spread throughout the camp. People stayed up all night crying, grieving and trying to organized a trip back to Egypt. All of this could have been avoided had the spies exercised a little faith and given an optimistic report.

It is easy to be negative. It takes no effort to be negative. It takes no pray or preparation to be negative. Some one told me the other day that the first thing they remembered me saying some 30 years ago was, “Any old jackass can kick a barn down but it takes a skilled carpenter to build one.” Anyone can criticize but it takes effort, imagination, planning and hard work to build things. A preacher came to Dwight L. Moody and told him, “I don’t like the way you give invitations.” Mr. Moody politely said, “Sir, how do you give them?” “I don’t give them at all,” said the preacher. “Then I prefer my way best,” said Moody.

  • Got the rails up for the handicap ramp last night. Shohn can use it Sunday. PTL. So many to thank. Jeff and Jennifer Garner made it possible. I don’t know what we would have done without Gary Garner’s leadership and hard work. Michael Hembree did the engineering with David and Jason doing the metal and then Michael’s crew doing the hand rails. The young married class were a super help. Lots of people helped and we had plenty last night which was a good thing.
