Satan Lied And Mankind Died
October 8, 2014
SCRIPTURE
The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
~Genesis 3:5-6, NASB
QUOTE
God knows sin experientially, without every having experienced it.
~Ronnie W. Rogers
We humans get confused by time and space: perhaps time more than space. God is eternal and lives in the eternal present. He has no past or future. He is omniscient: He knows all; He sees all. God has never had a new thought: nothing occurs to Him and nothing surprises Him. God knew what sin would do to Adam and Eve and the human family and He gave them stern warning that the consequences would be grave. Adam and Eve did not listen to God, they listened to the serpent who promised them they would not die but become like God. Of course Satan lied but there was a bit of truth in what he said, Adam and Eve did know more about sin once they had tasted the fruit of disobedience.
They became more like God is the sense of knowing the horror of sin and seeing its destructive power. God already knew what sin would do, thus He forbid them to do it. Of course, in all other ways they became less like God. Because God has no insecurities, He gave Adam and Eve the freedom to choose and yes He knew what they would choose. God’s plan could not be accomplished through creation alone but through creation and redemption.
As a parent, you can lock your child in a padded room. Home school them, shelter them from the evil influences of the world. You could even escort them everywhere they go. You know the sting of sin so you can guard them and keep them for experiencing sin but what kind of child will you produce? He/she will not be mentally balanced for sure and I have my doubts that they would ever love you in a significant way. Our Father created us to love and worship Him. Making us free moral agents was the only way He could get the quality of love and worship He desired.
Every Spring and Fall when the weather changes, I get an upper respiratory infection {Common cold} and I go get shoots, feel lousy and take pills the size we use to give calves when they were sick. Joe Eaton talked me into taking a flu shots 25 years ago and I got the flu and have not taken one since but this cold every spring and fall is getting old. I ask the folks at Rite-Aid yesterday about the Flu Shoot. They said, “You can take it until you’ve been off of the anti-biotic for three days.” Cyndi, tell John I am running up the white flag. I am going to take a flu shot this year, LORD willing.
- Today we pray for the WORLD {How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? …. “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”} ROMANS 10:14-15
- I took a day of rest yesterday but plan to be at work today. Let’s make it four in a row of going over 200 on Wednesday night. Remember AWANA workers you get a break on October 29.

- JERUSALEM PROJECT THIS SATURDAY at 8:00: Meet in the church parking lot. We could use some older guys with chain saws. I have a conflict and will not get there until middle of the morning.
The Truth, I Think!
There is a story circulating on the internet that a WW II couple were visiting the memorial in Washington DC when she began reading this above plaque aloud. When she got to the end, she said, “They left part of his speech out, the part where he says, So help us God.” The National Parks Services or whomever was responsible did leave a huge portion of the speech out. Note the three dots after INFAMY: this means they skipped a portion…below is the speech in its entirety. Since I know that 90% of you will not read the entire text: I have highlighted to clauses in question. Let me make it perfectly clear that I agree with the message and sentiment of the email. They did engrave the line that is filled with humanist garbage which I am sure Roosevelt’s writers had inserted for that very purpose and they did leave out “So help us God,” which meant a lot more to the American people than it did Roosevelt. Roosevelt was a progressive and all progressives and a humanist {Liberal} and they believe that the end justifies the means. I do agree with the little old lady in the internet version. They did leave out God and they did it for a reason.
Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy – the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with the government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack. It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.
The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu. Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.
Last night, Japanese forces attacked Guam.
Last night, Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.
Last night, the Japanese attacked Wake Island.
This morning, the Japanese attacked Midway Island.
Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation. As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us.
No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory. [word engraved]
I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.
Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.
With confidence in our armed forces – with the unbounding determination of our people – we will gain the inevitable triumph – so help us God.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, Dec. 7, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.
