Do that and you’ll kill two birds with one stone: pleasing the God above you and proving your worth to the people around you.

~Romans 14:28, MSG

The key to lasting happiness and real pleasure in this world is not found in seeking gratification, but in pleasing God.

~Francis Frangipane

How do you kill to birds with one stone? It could be a liniar-fowl problem, getting your ducks in a row but Paul taught that the key to killing two birds with one stone is to be single-minded in serving Christ. Focus on Christ and seek to please HIM. You could make it your goal to please everyone but in the long run, you would please no one. On the other hand, you could commit to pleasing Christ;  you gain the pleasure of serving HIM plus it will edify believers around you. So you get the joy of pleasing the One above you and the pleasure of edifying the believers around you. Two birds with one stone.
