Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

By perseverance the snail reached the ark.

my two cents worth.

Perseverance is steady persistent course of action in the pursuit of an objective in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. Perseverance has nothing to do with you playing video games for 40 hours a week or watching 12 hours of football on Saturday. Perseverance is not a passion or an addiction. Perseverance is not getting hooked on some time-killing, non-productive passion that is driven by your self-interest: Perseverance is going to work when you don’t feel like working but you have some little folks running around your house who need groceries, diapers, lunch money and a lot more. I know a man who came home from WWII and couldn’t find a job. The only thing available was pushing a wheel barrow for 37 cents an hour. He took the job because he had three children and another on the way. He worked two years as an apprentice for a cement mason and then he finished concrete [hard work] for the next 30 years. Like Big Mama, he retired on the first day that he was eligible. One of the first things he did upon retirement was to visit his son and daughter-in-law who were in Seminary. His son said, “Daddy, I am surprised, I thought you loved finishing concrete.” He said, “No son, I don’t think anyone loves to finish concrete. It was the only way I had of providing for you children.” Perseverance is that ability to keep on keeping on in spite of the hardship and it is never driven by self-interest. To be accused of perseverance, you need a noble cause.
