SCRIPTURE

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

~John 15:13, NASB

QUOTE

“What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth. They share it.”

~C.S. Lewis

my two cents worth.

We all know that Paul was a Type-A personality. You either got behind him or got out of his way. Ask anyone who is familiar with the New Testament this question: “If you had a choice of going on a mission trip with either Paul or Barnabas, whom would you choose? I have asked a lot of folks this question and they all say Barnabas. In spite of his personality, Paul did have some loyal friends and none greater than Aristarchus the Macedonian. He was probably converted on Paul’s second missionary journey and accompanied him on the third. He went with Paul to Jerusalem and stayed with Paul the two years he was confined at Caesarea. He was with Paul on the voyage to Rome and was a prisoner with him during the first imprisonment. Aristarchus is mentioned only five times in scripture but we know that he stuck with Paul through thick and thin. No one knows for sure but some have speculated that he voluntarily became Paul’s legal slave is Caesarea so that he could accompany Paul to prison. In other words, Aristarchus went to prison for Paul’s sake, there was no legal charge against him. Wow, what a friend. Do you have a friend who would lay down His life for you? As Luther would say, “You better believe it,” and His name is Jesus.

I put Ryder first in the pics because he is a sick little fellow. He does have meningitis but we do not know if it is viral or bacterial and we are praying for viral, if I understand correctly, it is the lesser of evils. He is in isolation at HH. His doctor sent him straight to Huntsville yesterday morning and we are thankful for a good doctor who evidently made a wise decision.

Ryder and Jamison: pray for Ryder, Please.

I’m almost lost for words; almost. We are obviously very concerned about Ryder and do request your prayer. Right now, he is our number one concern. June, Holly and Jeremy are definitely out but I am not worried about the BLOCK PARTY because what I have seen in the last couple of weeks assures me that all will go well. I kid you not, the Wednesday night thing blew my mind. I haven’t gotten in bed before mid-night in a week. Then last night went great as well. Tom pulled up yesterday morning and handed me $800 more for the BP and we already have $4,000 more than we had last year. Seth and his boss came out and sprayed for mosquitos and also killed all our wasp. People really seem excited about the Party. It has been a good week. I don’t know why I get stressed over these things; it always works out. God is good and He is worthy of praise.
