“Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”

~Luke 5:4, NASB

Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.

my thoughts red

What do you call a ship that stays anchored within the safety of the harbor and never puts out to sea? You might call it an artifact or a museum like the USS Alabama. You might call it a heap of scrap metal floating in the bay. You could call it useless. Believe it or not, the Jews were land lovers who feared the deep but Jesus knew that the fish were in the deep water. We all are tempted to stay in the safe confines of our comfort zone. We are afraid of the open seas, the deep water. Determine what you fear most and then do it; then you can live a fearless life. Jesus does not want fear to be our master. Neither He nor we can be truly happy when we live in a state of fear. What is the deep for you? Sharing Jesus with a lost friend is deep water to most professing Christians.

  • The LORD is good, another great day: I stand amazed in the presence of such mercy and grace. His grace is truly amazing.
  • Great job DBC on the Vitamins. We have one more Jerusalem [school related project] before Block Party and that is paper. This Sunday will be paper Sunday and then we are going to give you a much deserved break.
  • We had a packed house last night for fellowship: we met in the parlor. We did have a good crowd.
  • Our ice machine is down: Neil, if you read this, we need another one of your miracles.
  • Shohn and children leave this morning: Joe David and team leave Thursday.
