celebrate Jesus Son of God

SCRIPTURE

I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.

~John 16:20, NLT

QUOTE

One touch of Christ is worth a lifetime of struggling.

~A.B. Simpson

THOUGHT

Jesus never got in a hurry and sometimes, I suppose most of the time, He worked via the process but He could do things in an instant. He could cast out demons in an instant: He could heal instantly and He could calm a storm suddenly simply by speaking to it. I like the way Acts 2 begins… “On the day of Pentecost, all the believers were meeting together in one place.  Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.” I also like John 20:17,”That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them!” Whatever the Omnipotent One wills to do, He can do it over time or in an instant. Sometimes we feel like we are running out of time but it is a comfort to know that Jesus can change everything is a split second. Hallelujah, what a Savior.

  • I can tell you one thing for sure: you get all the Crowe’s and the Holidays together and you can pack a church out: There was standing room only at Friendship yesterday for Essie Holladay’s COLS.
  • Kenny Holladay was at the COLS but I didn’t get to talk to him. I stopped by but the door was locked so I figure he was tired from attending the service.
  • Routine Schedule for Sunday…Joe David is preaching in the a.m. service.
  • We have a new enrollee in LCBS…Wheeler Aaron Moore, born yesterday, 7 lbs. 15 ozs. With two Wheelers, I have to come up with a second nick name. Allison’s boy is Joe Wheeler and so I guess Stephanie’s will have to be Wheeler Dealer.
