celebrate Jesus Son of God

SCRIPTURE

You have been saved by grace because you believe. You did not save yourselves. It was a gift from God.

~Ephesians 2:8, NCV

QUOTE

God’s grace says, “I’ve picked up the tab. I’ll take care of everything inside and out. Accept it! Believe it! Consider it a fact!

~Charles R. Swindoll

my thoughts red

Would you initiate a relationship with someone who could bring absolutely nothing to the table. We are talking about a relationship where you do all the giving. Instead of give and take, it would be give, give, give! Consider the fact that Christ’s relationship with us is exactly this way. He is the creator and owner of everything. He has no real needs so what can we give Him? Yet He gives to us generously knowing we cannot pay Him back. I have bumped in to a few arrogant souls who dared to make the statement: “I worked for everything I have, nothing has been given to me.” The exact opposite is true: Paul said, “What do have that was not a gift?” When I encounter these foolish people, my comeback is…“Your life began with a gift, your mother gave your birth and God gave you breath. You don’t have anything that is not a gift.”

  • This is either a very late blog or very early: according to how you look at it. I went to see the DHS girls play in the Regionals at T-Town and got home at 1:02. The girls won both games last night and will be playing Winfield in the finals of the winners bracket at 11:00 am this morning. Winfield won both of their games in 5 innings. They are the number one seed. If we beat them, we go to the State. In we lose to them but then win one game in the losers bracket, we go to the State. Either way you cut it, we have to win three games. Savannah pitched two masterpieces giving up only one earned run in two games.
  • No Deacons meeting in the morning: LCBS at 9:00 and worship at 10:15 with no PM service.
  • Wonderful rain yesterday: Thank You Jesus!
