celebrate Jesus Son of God

SCRIPTURE

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”

~Matthew 28:18

QUOTE

Since Jesus authority is our only hope, why do we look for hope in other things or people?

~Pete Wilson

my thoughts red

There are some things in life we have no power or authority over. We cannot speed up slow traffic, we cannot arrest cancer and we cannot evade physical death. In reality, there are some things only God can do, some sins only He can forgive, some grace only Christ can confer, some acceptance only Jesus can provide and some problems that only He can fix. So why are we tempted to fix things ourselves?

Does the paragraph above seem familiar? It should, it came directly from our LIFE CHANGING BIBLE STUDY book. If you recognized it, good for you and if you didn’t, this is a reminder that you need to study your lesson. If your hope is not in Christ, you have no hope.

EXTRA animated

  • We are going to attempt to change the projectors out this morning if we get enough help. I hope to be there at 8:00
  • Kenny Holladay did not get a good report. The cancer is back and it has caused several problems. He is in a lot of discomfort and cannot eat anything. I ask you to pray for Kenny. He is in good spirits; he has a positive attitude. He is concerned about his mother who will be 99 in August. I am asking you to put him on your prayer list.
  • You can buy a ROSE FOR MAMA today. Mandy and Jamie will be taking orders after worship.
