In The Grip of Grace

February 27, 2014

celebrate Jesus

Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

~Psalms 139:10, NKJV

If Jesus cannot save and keep, He cannot be called a Savior.

Chloe came to the girls softball game on Tuesday night and there was standing water in many places from the rain that had fallen earlier in the day. Chloe is very independent these days and she loves to walk and of course she goes straight for the water. So I allowed her walk but I held her hand. There are times when she will hold my hand but most of the time, it is my grip that keeps her in tow. Likewise as believers, we are in His [Christ Jesus] grip of grace. If it were up to us to hold on, we would have cause to worry but it is Christ who has laid hold of us.

  • I may have mentioned it last night, I don’t remember but Dana Segars is home PTL. I am so happy for her. She wanted to come home so bad.
  • Sammy Jo was still in labor last night at 9:00 [Feb. 26]
  • We had planned to go see the MOVIE “Son of God” Sunday evening at 5:30 but some church beat us to the draw and bought out the entire theater. We are planning to go at 2:30 on Sunday Evening. This will be our Sunday evening service. We have heard a lot of good things about the movie but no one has seen it. I don’t see how it could be as powerful at the Passion but you never know.
  • Senior Adult Fellowship Friday at 11:30 in the Parlor: Soup, Sandwiches, Salads and Sweets. Senior option is sweets or salad.
  • Men’s Breakfast Sunday Morning at 8:00 am.
  • Good crowd last night. Brian, Sloan and the guys did good. Bro. Jack’s sermon was not that good but it’s not about Bro. Jack, amen! I think he needs to study more.
  • Jesus is preeminent in everything: it is all about Jesus! Amen!
  • Tammy will be mailing the last Check to GRACE MINISTRIES. I don’t have the exact amount but it’s going to be over $12,000 dollars. When Teddy get’s ready to build the Medical Clinic, we are ready to help. We can send Doc Holladay down there two or three times a year.
