COMMENTARY

Frederick the Great is known as one of Germany’s great leaders. Once the famous Emperor was visiting Potsdam Prison where he talked with each inmate. He walked along the cell block speaking to prisoner after prisoner; each man pleading his case, all were innocent victims of the system. One by one Frederick listened to their stories until he came to a cell where one man sat quietly in the corner. Frederick said, “You sir, who do you blame for being in prison?” He was shocked at the reply, “Myself sir, I blame myself. I am guilty and I deserve my punishment.” Surprised, the emperor shouted to the warden, “Come quickly, get this man out of her before he corrupts all these innocent people.” On this day, the truth literally set a man free.

The ultimate freedom comes when we openly confess Jesus Christ as our Savior and LORD.

EXTRA

  • The LORD is good. We thank Him for His mercy and grace. We did reach our goal of $10,000 for the Feeding and Learning Center in El Tahar and we rejoiced to see the photos of the kids eating the hotdogs and learning in the after school program. DBC is thankful to be a part of this Mission endeavor.
  • Little Josie our princess is sick, she has been very sick for the past week and was admitted to HH Women and Children’s yesterday evening. We do not mind you praying for Josie. We do not know exactly what all the problems are but we think it is related to a viral infection. The Wild Man {Ty} spent the night with us last night. He did well. Of course he spilled his drank but he spills at least one drink a day. He was concerned about his sister but he has his video game and he and Big Mama are tight. He calls Big Mama every night to check on her. He seldom misses a night. I’ll be headed to Huntsville by the middle of the morning, LORD willing. If you don’t mind, say a prayer for Josie.
