Gratitude In Order
September 21, 2013
SCRIPTURE
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
QUOTE
Growth in grace is growth downward. It is the forming of a lower estimate of ourselves. It is a deepening realization of our nothingness. It is a heartfelt recognition that we are not worthy of the least of God’s mercies.

COMMENTARY AND EXTRA
More than one team member has raised the question, “Why were we born in the most affluent nation in history and not in the second or third world?” No one has an answer to this thought provoking question. We do know for certain that we are blessed. The 2013 Guatemala Team did a good wonderful work. I am convinced that they touched the lives of many Guatemalans and there is no question that they touched our team. Over 90% of our team are 45 years and down which I interpret to be young. I am extremely proud of them and it is encouraging to see their compassion and their leadership. Everyone has worked hard and I know that they are tired but I don’t know of a single one who regrets coming. We now set our sites on MY HOPE and making a difference in Morgan County. We are anxious to get home and see our families and gather for Bible Study and worship tomorrow.
I want to commend everyone but especially our organizers: Mandy, Jason, Adam, Jamie, Eddie and Sue. David Hopper did great leading our worship. We are especially indebted to Teddy and Lisa. Teddy definitely out-kicked his coverage, amen. I do want to thank them for their love and generosity. A big commendation to General Gerald Cochran who cooked for us this week. I bet Gerald gets recruited for the 2015 trip.
