Prayer For REVIVAL in America

Prayer For REVIVAL in America

Be careful that none of you fails to respond to the grace which God gives, for if he does there can very easily spring up in him a bitter spirit which is not only bad in itself but can also poison the lives of many others.

Hebrews 12:15, J.B. Phillips

“Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die”

Years ago my oldest grandson got hooked on the Lion King and we watched that thing until he knew it by heart. Mufasa was the King of the pride land and his son was Simba, the heir to the throne. Mufasa had a brother name Scar. When Mufasa and the Pride Land had the baby dedication of Simba, Scar didn’t show up. He did not have the ability to celebrate his brother’s good fortune because he was filled with bitter envy. Scar had the “Elder Brother Syndrome”.  He got the nick name Scar because he had a very bad attitude. Obviously Scar had been hurt; perhaps he had been rejected as king or over looked because of his weakly appearance. Whatever hurt him, he did not heal and it left him scarred for life. When a wound does not heal properly, it leaves a scar. When we fail to let the hurt go or to give it to Jesus, the wound festers and leaves a scar. We try hard to hold the bitterness and resentment inside but others see it and eventually, they begin to avoid us because there is something contagious about bitterness. There are some things we need to admit and accept…

  1. Everyone gets hurt; it is a part of life. You are not an exception. Man up, grow some skin. The louder you cry for pity the less you are going to get.
  2. God has a purpose in our suffering: don’t waste your sorrows. Learn from them.
  3. When you are unable to change a situation, let it be a challenge to change yourself.
  4. Either you bear the hurt or you transfer it to everyone around you. Don’t be an Esau who poisoned his own descendants with his bitter attitude.
  5. Scar’s mantra was “Life is not fair.” You have a choice, you can be a Victor or a Victim. It is your call.
  6. You can’t make excuses and progress at the same time and every time you put the blame on someone else, your forfeit the opportunity to make progress.

  • What about that crowd last night. James Kyle had a lot of friends and so does Peggy and the kids. That, my friends, was a crowd.
  • I made a mistake Sunday, the AWANA kick off is next Wednesday not tomorrow. We will all meet together one more time. I sure have enjoyed us being together.
  • If you want to bring food to help feed the Lindsey Family, bring a vegetable or a dessert. We have ham, chicken fingers, rolls, tea, and cokes.
