SCRIPTURE: “Kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found”. So the party began. [Luke 15:23, NLT]

QUOTE: The church which is the bride of Christ has no need to be jealous. This is what distinguishes our love from the world; we want as many souls as will to love our Groom. Richard Wurmbrand

THOUGHT: Jesus the Groom is infinitely sufficient: he can give you all His love and still have love for all.

COMMENTARY: I love Luke 15. Over the years, it has become my favorite chapter in the bible. The first 60 years of my life I focused on the Sons. First, I was enamored with the prodigal then for a decade or more, I focused on the elder brother but now I think most often about the FATHER. He gave and gave but his resources were never diminished. The more he gave, the more He had to give. He gave the prodigal his inheritance but when he returned with a repentant heart, he showered him with more gifts. This is a beautiful picture of our Heavenly Father who has infinite resources that cannot be diminished. It is also a picture of our wonderful Groom, the Lord Jesus Christ. He has given me all of his love but He is able to do the same for you. There is no need for me to be jealous. An older Christian lady bumped into a young woman who was visibly shaken. The older woman said, “you look sad, can I help you?” “No” said the young lady, “the man I love just told me that he did not love me and he is gone forever, no one can help me.” “Don’t worry my dear” said the older woman, “I have a wonderful Groom that I will share with you.” At first the girl thought that she was being mocked but the older Christian woman sat her down and explained. The young woman gave her heart to Christ. Hallelujah, what a Savior! He has more than enough love for all of us.
